Hawaii is lots of fun ... eating, drinking, swimming with turtles, snorkeling with exotic fish and seeing the sights. We spent a week on the Kona Coast of the big island of Hawaii with Don and Linda Peters and we had a great time. Just click on the link below that's marked 'Next' to see a sample of what we saw. |

It's a long way from San Diego to the Hawaiian Islands, about 2700 miles which is nearly as far as San Diego to New York but the trip is worth it. |

It really is a big island. It takes all day to drive around it and every side is different. We stayed in the left side which is called the Kona side because it's very dry. On the right side is Hawaii's second biggest city ... Hilo ... where it rains a lot ... in fact it rains some nearly every day. On the bottom of the island are the volcano's. The Kilauea Volcano in Volcano National Park has been erupting almost continually since the 1980's. The north side of the island is very remote and very wet. |
| Here is our condo. Second floor, fifth from the right end. It was very comfortable and we spent hours sitting on the balcony looking at the ocean, ships and especially the green sea turtles. | ![]() |
