Welcome to Hal & Jenny's 2004 Adventure to Washington and Canada

In mid September, 2004 Jenny and I took a vacation with our good friends, Jerry and Marylyn Mitchell. We flew to Seattle, Washington and played a round of golf at the Kayak Point course which in about an hours drive north of the Seattle airport.
After golf, we stopped at an Indian tribe gambling casino. We needed to be on our way to finding a hotel for the night but we thought that a little Blackjack would take our minds off of the poor golf that we had played that day. My luck was good immediately and soon I had $160 of the tribes money. Jenny was not winning or losing as I watched $60 of my winnings slowly disappear. When the $60 was gone, I put the $100 profit in my pocket and left the table. Jenny said that she would be ready to go in a few minutes. When I returned to Jenny, a few minutes later, her stack of chips had doubled, She was on a hot streak. Her streak ran over an hour and when it was over, we left with over $400 in winnings.
The next morning, we played golf at the Sudden Valley golf course. As we finished, it started to rain. It rained a lot that week. We went to Jerry and Marylyn's home in Everson. As a nice surprise, their friends, George and Osa were visiting. I have know Osa since I was a teenager. We had a very pleasant weekend stay and visit. Jenny and I played golf at the Lake Paden course on Monday, it started dry but got very wet by the third hole. I suppose that we should have quit early but we slogged it out to the end.
Tuesday morning, the four of us drove to Vancouver, Canada and took the Vancouver Island ferry. We drove several hours in a heavy rain to the town of Campbell River which is on Discovery Passage of the Canadian inland waterway. This is the passage that the Alaskan cruse ships use. We stayed at a wonderful Bed & Breakfast. From our bedroom window, we could see the ocean flowing through the passage, Eagles would land in a tree not far from our window. It is one of the nicest places the we have ever stayed. Bob and Lynda, our hosts, provided everything that we needed including great food and good company. I have included a link to their place. If you ever go to Campbell River, be sure to stay at the Mariner's Haven B&B.
After a couple of nights, we returned to Washington for more golf, a little more gambling, and our flight home. This was our fifth trip to Washington to visit with the Mitchell's and we enjoyed it very much. I'm sure that we would have enjoyed it just as much if it had not rained quite so many days.
Take a look at the pictures and send us some email . I hope that you enjoy it.
