Welcome to Hal & Jenny 2004 Adventure to France and England.

In May, 2004, Jenny and I enjoyed a great vacation in France and England. We were accompanied, part of the time by our son Michael, daughter-in-Law Sandy and grandson Matthew.  We all were together in Paris for four days. After we left Paris, Mike and Sandy headed for the Moselle valley of Germany to see castles. Jenny and I spent a couple of days in Verdun and in Champaign.  This part of the trip was a "Sentimental Journey" for me to remember my time as a young Airman in the fifties.

After Verdun and Champaign, we spent three great days and nights in Normandy. The WWII battlefields there were incredible. It was a grim reminder of the great price paid for our freedom by the Americans,  British, and their allies. I have read the books and seen the movies but until I stood on the hills overlooking the invasion beaches, I had no concept of what it was like.

While Mike and Sandy were visiting London, Jenny and I crossed the English Channel by high speed ferry to Portsmouth to visit our English family.  We had three great days of family fun with everyone. Mike and Sandy joined us for the last couple of days.

The five of us returned to France on the ferry and the trip to the Paris Airport. It was a remarkable vacation.

Take a look at the pictures and send us some email . I hope that you enjoy it.
